Amlodipine is a drug prescribed for patients with the following conditions;
- High blood pressure
- Coronary heart disease
The drug is available in form of tablets of 2.5g, 5g and 10 g. It is contra indicated to pregnant and breastfeeding women, patients with cardiogenic shock and hepatic impairment and people with unstable angina .The major Amlodipine Side Effectsare rare but have been reported by a small percentage of patients using this drug.
The major Amlodipine side effects are; chest ache ,abnormal weight gain, paleness in stool, producing dark urine, gum bleeding ,wheezing, muscle cramps ,Excessive tiredness, persistent sore throat ,fever, chills, irregular heart beats, severe dizziness that might lead to fainting less or no urination, impotence, and development of mammary glands in men .
Major side effects of Amlodipine are very fatal if not treated within the specified time. The patient is supposed to inform a professional doctor or pharmacist for further treatment.
